You are invited to a church cleaning bee in the morning of Satu rday September 19th - a great way for all ages to get involved and to meet new people outside of Sunday morning.\nHave you noticed a spiderweb somew here? Come and vanquish it! Detailed dusting is not part of our verger's w eekly job list\, and needs special attention.\nLists of priority cleaning tasks/areas and a sign up sheet are ready in the narthex. Please do sign u p ahead of time if you can\, to give the coordinators an idea of how much coffee to prepare.\n* Please bring your own cleaning equipment if you can (e.g. small vacuum\, long duster) as the church does not have enough for l ots of people to use all at once.  We do have dusters\, furniture polish\ , cleaning agents etc\, but feel free to bring your favourite tools and sc ent-free products.\nAreas for cleaning:\n\nFront entrance (inside)\nMain s tairwell &\; corridor\nNarthex\nChurch\nRector’s office stairs &\; rector’s office\nBack stairs\nDownstairs Hall (sofa end only)\nYouth ro om\nWashrooms (x3) &\; corridor\n\nThe kitchen\, music equipment\, pari sh office\, sacristy\, downstairs office\, and Sunday School room are not included in this general clean\, as they are looked after by staff/weekly volunteer teams.\n* CHECKLISTS will be in a central location (near the cof fee!). Suggestions for detailed cleaning tasks will be arranged by area of the building\, to make it easy for everyone to see what still needs doing \, and to avoid duplication.\n\nClaim a task before you start by initialli ng beside it\, to avoid doubling up.\nTake a small task list with you for easy reference\nTick off the completed task on the big sheet when finished .\nCome when you can\, do what you can.\nEvery bit that gets done helps!\n \nA sample list of tasks is attached below.\nTIPS:\n*No need to commit to completing all the tasks in a given area. \n* Tasks can be done by cleani ng type rather than by area if preferred.\n* Ventilate well and don't mix bleach and ammonia!\n* Start up high\, finish with floors\, so dust doesn' t fall onto clean surfaces below. Vacuum last\, paying extra attention to edges and corners.\n* If you see something that needs doing but isn't on t he list\, do it!
