From Victoria Nikkei Cultural Society, International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War Canada and Victoria Multi-Faith Society:

Annual Hiroshima & Nagasaki Peace Event. This year, it will be held at the newly built Japanese pavilion and gardens in Gorge Park. Everyone is welcome!

Date: Tues August 9th 6:00-9:00 pm, program starts at 7 pm)

Place: Gorge Park Japanese Pavilion (outside), please bring lawn chairs.

Spearheaded by the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War Canada, the Hiroshima-Nagasaki commemoration celebrates peace.

On Tuesday, August 9  at 6-9pm, a special event is planned to commemorate the devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by nuclear bombs in 1945. This year, the event is at a beautiful new location!

As the world's immense nuclear arsenal has been made illegal but not yet disarmed 77 years later, this celebration of Japanese culture at the stunning new Gorge Park Pavilion (next to the Japanese Gardens) reminds us of the need to treasure & work for peace.

Admission is free, but donations to contribute to the cost of the event will be welcome on site.

Registration isn't necessary but will allow people to get reminders.   Register at Eventbrite
