In the summer of 2018, with financial support from our Diocese of BC Vision Fund, parishioners at St Philip constructed a labyrinth on the south lawn of the church, using a 7-circuit design based on the 11-circuit 13th century labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral. The labyrinth was dedicated in a special service on 24 June 2018.

Labyrinths have been used for at least 5,000 years to support people on their inner journey.

Unlike a maze, which is a puzzle to be solved, a labyrinth is a map to be followed. Our journeys take unexpected twists and turns; but there are no dead ends. If we follow the Voice of Love, we come to the centre where we find our true nature as beings created by Love.
