The Samaritan woman Jesus met at the well was suffering from social isolation. Jesus broke all barriers of what was considered ethnically and socially appropriate and reached out to this woman to touch her in her deep pain and to address her real hunger. This picture offers us a profound challenge to work to insure in this uncertain time that social distancing does not become social isolation.
