Readings and prayers for Sunday 15 October 2023 and the following week: 

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector.  In our diocesan cycle of prayer, we pray for the people of St Philip, Cedar, and their interim priest-in-charge, Deborah Rivet.

This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for the Primate, Linda Nicholls, and for The Rt. Rev. Lynne McNaughton, Bishop, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of  Kootenay. 

In the Anglican Council of Indigenous People cycle of prayer, we pray for Indigenous Archbishop Chris Harper, and for the congregation of St. Michael and all Angels, in the Diocese of Edmonton, the Rev. Colleen Sanderson, and the ministry of all its members.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Anglican Church of Kenya.

Collect:  Almighty God,  in our baptism you adopted us for your own. Quicken, we pray, your Spirit within us, that we, being renewed both in body and mind, may worship you in sincerity and truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.   (BAS)

"After Pentecost during Ordinary Time, there are two sets of Hebrew Bible readings. One set progresses semi-continuously through the Patriarchal/Exodus narratives (Year A), the Monarchial narratives (Year B), and the Prophets (Year C). The other set is related thematically, or is complementary, to the gospel lections for those dates. The Hebrew Bible lections during the rest of the year are thematically related to the gospel lections, which are in turn connected to the seasons of the Church Year.
