Alleluia! Christ is risen!
Prayers and readings for Sunday 19 April 2026 and the following week:
We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for the ushers and greeters.
This week our diocese prays for the parish of St Christopher & St Aidan, Cowichan Lake, and their incumbent, Selinde Krayenhoff.
In our ecclesiastical province's cycle of prayer, we pray for the Diocese of Yukon and Bishop-elect Vincent Fenga.
We continue to hold the community of Tumbler Ridge in our prayers. We pray for all the people of the town and in particular the families of all those who have died. We pray for all affected for by the devastating news: parents, family members, fellow students, teachers, first responders, medical teams, neighbours, those with links to the town and the province as a whole. We pray that they will know of God’s love and peace in this time. That they will know that they do not walk alone in the dark valley. That they will know the love of neighbour supporting in any way possible. That all of us deeply touched by this tragedy may know God’s hope.
This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for he Most Rev. Anne Germond, Archbishop, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of Algoma, and for climate justice and healthy relationships with the earth.
In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Church of the Province of Myanmar (Burma)
Collect: Risen Christ, companion on the way: break through the disillusionment and despair which cloud our vision, so that we may find our way and journey on as messengers of your good news. Amen. (Revised Common Lectionary Prayers (2002) alt.)
