Prayers and readings for Sunday 24 May 2026 and the following week:
We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for our bookkeeper.
This week our diocese prays for the parish of St Peter, Quamichan and their incumbent, Theo Robinson.
In our ecclesiastical province's cycle of prayer, we pray for the Diocese of Yukon and Bishop Vincent Fenga.
We continue to hold the community of Tumbler Ridge in our prayers. We pray for all the people of the town and in particular the families of all those who have died. We pray for all affected for by the devastating news: parents, family members, fellow students, teachers, first responders, medical teams, neighbours, those with links to the town and the province as a whole. We pray that they will know of God’s love and peace in this time. That they will know that they do not walk alone in the dark valley. That they will know the love of neighbour supporting in any way possible. That all of us deeply touched by this tragedy may know God’s hope.
This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for Bishop-Elect Kathryn Otley, and the people and clergy of the Diocese of Ottawa.
In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Episcopal Church in the Philippines
Collect: Living God, you create all that is. Send forth your Spirit to renew and restore us, so that we may proclaim your good news in ways and words that all will embrace and believe. Amen (RCL Prayers 2002, alt)
