Please join us at Oak Bay United Church as we celebrate Earth Day 2024 through the telling of the Indigenous tale Raven Brings the Light.

The story, which originated over 3,000 years ago, is a traditional story of the peoples of the Northwest Coast of BC. It will be recounted by Robert (Lucky) Budd, a gifted oral storyteller, who collaborates with renowned Indigenous artist Roy Henry Vickers to preserve traditional stories and share them with people of all ages.

Admission: by donation to cover costs and to support Reconciliation and Climate work. No pre-registration necessary.

Time: 2pm on Saturday April 20th. Doors open at 1: 45 and will close at 4pm.

Location: Storytelling will take place upstairs in the Oak Bay United Church sanctuary. This is an elevator-accessible space. Following the story and a question period with Lucky, we'll move downstairs to the Community Hall for refreshments and art-making.

Lucky will autograph copies of Raven Brings the Light and other titles. We'll have some copies available for purchase, or you may bring your own copies from home. We look forward to having you join us!
