Join us in a discussion about the future direction of St. Philip Church.

In our diocesan vision - Renewed Hearts, Renewed Spirits, Renewed People - parishes are directed to discern what God is calling us to focus on here and now, and to discern where we may be going in the future.

We are a parish in transition; Christopher and Heather hold the hope of retirement at some point; the position of Associate Priest will be posted again in January; Sunday commitments outside of church are impacting Sunday attendance. Let’s use this Diocesan mandate to our advantage and seek to identify our hopes and dreams in light of the realities we face in the decade to come. What will church look like? How can we serve and love our neighbour? How can we grow deeper in our love of God, of one another and of the world entrusted to our care?

A new vision for our parish may give rise to new expressions of faith and new projects. This committee will seek to explore this vision.

The Transforming Futures initiative, as currently explained by the Diocese calls for a sharing of new monies raised in support of parish visioning projects, with a material portion going to the Diocese.  We recognize that this fundraising plan has caused concern among our parishioners; the development of a St Philip vision will not include the Diocesan financial component.

We are, indeed, a part of the Anglican Church of Canada and a subsequent discussion to define the path between the culture and values of St Philip and the requirements of the Diocese will be needed.
