Jesus holds out for his followers a luminous but unattainable vision of a transformed life. The challenge of the Christian life is to hold the vision in all of its beauty, while trusting in the mercy of God when we fall short as we all do and entering into the flow of that mercy which transforms us into the likeness of Christ.
