Today we begin a series of Advent music ancient and modern, choral settings of liturgical texts from this season of light in darkness. Today's piece is the Matin Responsory (Aspiciens a longe, I look from afar), sung on the first Sunday of Advent after the first reading in the night office of the Latin secular (non-monastic) rite.
