This Week in Prayer

Prayers and readings for Sunday 18 October 2026 and the following week:

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for the prayer ministry and Sunday prayer teams.

This week our diocese prays for the people of St John the Divine, Courtenay, and their clergy, Alastair Hunting and Marion Edmondson.

This week our ecclesiastical province prays for the Territory of the People and Bishop Clara Plamondon.

The Anglican Church of Canada prays for The Rt. Rev. Lynne McNaughton, Archbishop, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of Kootenay.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Anglican Church of Canada.

Collect: O God, whose image we bear and whose name we carry, yours is the world and all it contains. Recall us to our true allegiance, so that above the powers and rulers of this world you alone may claim our loyalty and love. We make our prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.  Amen. Opening Prayers (1997) alt.
