This week in prayer

Alleluia! Christ is risen!

Prayers and readings for Sunday 3 May 2026 and the following week: 

We pray for Anna, our bishop, and Allen, our rector. In our parish cycle of prayer, we pray for our Wardens.

This week our diocese prays for the parish of St Mary the Virgin, Oak Bay, and their incumbent, Craig Hiebert.

In our ecclesiastical province's cycle of prayer, we pray for the Diocese of Caledonia and Bishop David Lehmann.

We continue to hold the community of Tumbler Ridge in our prayers.  We pray for all the people of the town and in particular the families of all those who have died. We pray for all affected for by the devastating news: parents, family members, fellow students, teachers, first responders, medical teams, neighbours, those with links to the town and the province as a whole. We pray that they will know of God’s love and peace in this time. That they will know that they do not walk alone in the dark valley. That they will know the love of neighbour supporting in any way possible. That all of us deeply touched by this tragedy may know God’s hope.  

This week the Anglican Church of Canada prays for The Rt. Rev. Rod BrantFrancis, Bishop, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of Moosonee.

In the Anglican Communion cycle of prayer, we pray for The Church of North India (United)

Collect: Risen Christ, your wounds declare God’s love for the world and the wonder of your risen life gives us compassion and courage to risk ourselves for those we serve, to the glory of God the Father.  Amen.  (Common Worship:  Additional Collects (2004))
