NO live stream this Sunday

NO live stream this Sunday

Apologies, there will not be a live stream of the 9.30 service on Sunday 12 May, and therefore no recording available later. However, there will be an audio-only recording of the sermon.

This is a one-time thing, but live streaming takes a lot of commitment and effort from a whole team of people attending in person - i.e., who don't use the live stream resource themselves. Continuing to live stream indefinitely is not a given. So if you are still actively using the live stream, please let us know when you watch and why it is important to you : admin@stphilipvictoria.ca. Feedback received by Monday 27 May will help to inform a Parish Council discussion on the 28th and any decisions made at that time.

St George's Cadboro Bay: From Truth to Reconciliation

St George's Cadboro Bay: From Truth to Reconciliation

with Ry Moran, 7:00pm Wednesday, May 15, 2024

As a Diocese we understand ourselves to be at the beginning of the long road to Truth and Reconciliation. This 90-minute presentation of spoken word, video footage, music and song, speaks to the ongoing work of truth telling, reconciliation, healing and peace making that we have committed to undertake.

Currently UVic's Associate University Librarian - Reconciliation, Ry Moran served as the Director of Statement Gathering for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (2010-2015) and then as founding Director of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR).

Ry hopes that Chief Barney Williams, who spent 12 years in residential schools on Meares Island (off Tofino) and in Kamloops, will also be part of the evening’s presentation. Barney is a hereditary leader of the Nuu-chat-nulth Nation, was a member of the Survivors’ Committee for the TRC and is a recipient of the British Columbia Reconciliation Award (2023) for his leadership and commitment to furthering reconciliation.

Please join us for what will be a remarkable and possibly life-changing event, at St George's or online, this coming Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 7:00pm .

To join the event via Zoom, CLICK HERE.

What is life review therapy?

- Fr. Allen says: "I have participated in several life review seminars and found them beneficial. They were able to highlight certain aspects of my experience that had impacted me more than I knew. I was then empowered, with the help of other participants, to chart a path of healing and integration."
