How to donate money to support R.’s family’s sponsorship
There are three routes to donate to R.’s family's sponsorship: through the synagogue, the cathedral and the Inter-Cultural Association (who submitted the application to the federal government and manages most sponsorships in the Victoria region).
All these donations are eligible for a charitable tax receipt and will go towards refugee settlement costs.
Donations through Congregation Emanu-El (two ways)
- Online: synagogue's donations page and account for R's family - enter credit card details as a guest.

- Cheques made out to "Congregation Emanu-El".
Be sure to write "Refugee Sponsorship CE25" in the memo line.
Donations through Christ Church Cathedral (three ways)
- Cheques made out to Christ Church Cathedral.
Be sure to write "Refugee Support" in the memo line.
- In person:
Credit card transactions can be made at the office (930 Burdett Ave, Victoria).
Please ensure that Refugee Support is mentioned to the person completing the transaction so the funds are appropriately booked.
- E transfer at giving@christchurchcathedral.bc.ca
In the memo box type in Refugee Support.
Donations through the ICA
Online: ICA refugee sponsorship donation page.
https://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=E335022QE&id=9
- Scroll down the page and click on the constituent group menu.
- Scroll down to CG216-25
(about four groups from the bottom of the long list)
- Select CG216-25.
(**It is very important to double check at this point that you have selected the correct code or your donation will go to another group. If your hand slips, it’s easy to choose another group. Double check before finalizing your donation.)
